Here at Porter’s Sound we were captured by the first question God posed in the Scriptures, “Where are you?” He came in with curiosity towards Adam and Eve’s sin and shame that literally had them hiding from a God who already knew everything. Far too often, the wounds of our story and the shame that accompanies them leave us isolated, hidden, and alone. And more often than not we find such creative methods to be able to hide in plain sight.

  • Our own personal lives were divinely interrupted by others taking time to intently and empathetically listen, show compassion and care, and courageously speak truth by fundamentally repeating God’s first question to us… “Where are you?” We believe that God intentionally placed these people in our lives to make tangible what it means to be seen, known and loved - essentially the Gospel.

  • The beauty of the kindness and loving care of God was reflected to us in these relationships where our depravity was fully seen and our dignity was celebrated. We then became passionate about seeing others come to life through relational care. It became our life’s work to embody this care as professional therapists.

  • Lakeland has been our home since 2017. We have had the privilege of walking alongside people who are going through difficult seasons of life and are facing suffering that comes in a variety of forms. Porter’s Sound was created with the vision of seeing people live honest and abundant lives in light of their dignity and depravity. At Porter’s Sound we join others individually, as couples, or as organizations to create a hope for full living.
